Joy, fear, angst, and above all, excitement. I overly was feeling all the normal feelings as I prepared for the birth of my prototypicalborn which was a daughter. merely I had no paper just how quickly my perfect military man would be crashing down. This daylight would be the best and worst day of my life. In March of 1996, I was 31 weeks pregnant with my first child. I had been rushed to the hospital two days out previous because I was feeling contractions. My doctor knew it was too soon for me to single out out the ball up, so he gave me medicine in my I.v. that would hopefully reside my contractions. Unfortunately, the medicine, which was magnesium, caused genuinely uncomfortable side effects. I was snuff itting highly hot and felt like I was on fire. afterward 48 hours of being on magnesium, the doctor came in and told me that the magnesium had not been effective in taenia my assiduity. He express that we should let nature take its course since nada else was tenia the contractions. I was so scared, I knew my baby was very early and didnt have strong enough lungs to breath. But I knew God would take care of my baby. Since we were no extended stopping the labor, my Dr. then gave me a drug called oxytocin, which was used to go up the labor. My body was so confused, going from stopping the labor at all costs, to encouraging labor. I could tell my baby was struggling. I was shaking and staring to vomit. After being on Pitocin for 24 hours and in active labor for 20 hours, it was finally time for me to push. I remember feeling so shake that my baby would die. I found it hard to instruction on pushing, but after 2 hours, she was finally born, and forward I could get a look at her, they whisked her mop up to the neonatal intensive care unit to examine her.
